Call us, email us or message us. We will then make arrangements to visit your site for a chat, a good look at your electricity bill to establish whether or not you are paying penalties and a quick walk around inspection after which we will be able to discuss prices and options for your full report.
THE FULL PROCESS
We investigate your incoming electrical supply in order to establish the best position to attach our energy loggers. Depending upon your requirements and the size of the distribution board, the logger will remain attached for up to 1 week. The logger records voltage, current, kw (power) and power factor (kvar and power quality). We then remove the logger and download and analyse the data. This is a non invasive process and the loggers do not interfere with your electrical supply. We carry out a full walk around inspection of your equipment to establish the types of electrical loads on site. During this inspection we are also able to identify obvious, and often easily rectifiable problems that may be the cause of some wastage, such as, outdated lamps, direct online motors. If we find issues that may be related to overheating cables you will also receive a thermal imaging report.
REPORT BACK
The information collected will be added to a report in hardcopy and digital format. The report will contain:
Voltage levels throughout the week i.e. above or below 240 volts, together with comments, explanations and recommendations such as voltage reduction methods.
Current measurements on all electrical phases, showing minimum and maximum levels throughout the day.
Kw hours will be collected for the full week.
Power Quality which will show how loading is balanced across three phases.
Power Factor will be shown as a graph highlighting both active and reactive power (KVAR). We will further provide an explanation of whether your power factor is good or bad and what can be done about it.
The pictures below show how our instruments attach and an example thermal image.
